See a PDF of the preliminary agricultural layout plan here. Our goal is to cultivate an economically vital and abundant agricultural settlement while protecting and preserving the surrounding wild landscape. Conservation of wetland habitats and native species is a top priority in our landscape design. Farm policy will require organic practices and prohibit use of toxic pesticides and herbicides. We continue to move towards our sustainability goals by working with the Natural Resource Conservation Service. In 2010 we built fencing to protect wetlands from our livestock, and received grant funding for a 30x72 high tunnel in order to extend our growing season. 2011 saw more fencing of sensitive areas, as well as implementing rotational grazing and cover cropping. Our animals fill a vital role in the sustainability of the property, providing manure and clearing areas for planting, and are also a source of food for the workers on the farm.  We will be offering an expanded CSA this year with more shares available, and will continue our presence at the Middlebury and Brandon farmer's markets. For information on our CSA or apprentice opportunities, please emal This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
