Education for a Sustainable Future

While developing home construction and agricultural systems, we will also be laying the foundation for the Neshobe Institute for Holistic Communities (NIHC).  Using the project, NIHC will begin educational programs to train individuals for the future of intelligent sustainable development.  The mission of NIHC is to enrich society through research, education, and demonstration of holistic community living. We define a holistic community as one that is balanced, inclusive, diverse, and committed to a conscious, nurturing relationship with all aspects of the natural, human, and spiritual worlds.  

The NIHC is divided into four focus quadrants:

• Natural land development and construction - land planning, sensitive building placement, energy and resource efficiency, community amenities, sustainable building practices
• Organic agriculture and cottage industry - community supported agriculture, permaculture, agricultural businesses, value-added industry
• Health & wellness - therapeutic spa treatments, nutrition, fitness and movement, well-being classes and programs
• Community - creative arts, performing arts, social, culture events, spiritual practice, teaching and study
